MN Orchestra

I put our names a in random drawing this winter, and we won free tickets to a MN Orchestra performance called "Casey at the Bat." We went on Sunday... Target sponsors free family concerts about four times each year. It was great! The kids hadn't ever been to Orchestra Hall, and there were lobby activities about an hour before the show started that we tried out. The stations set up were designed for kids to try out different types of instruments. Very cool! And when the show started, the kids were glued to the stage. It was a beautiful moment, interrupted with the reality of Owen wanting to wiggle and Nonie being too sensitive to the loud music. In the end, we left early, but we'd happily go again! We listened to the orchestra, an opera singer and watched a dance company before all was said and done, and overall the kids did really well.

  1. Such wonderful culture! You go, girl---good for you for braving it and bringing all three kids. I think it's such a great learning experience on so many levels when you do things like that.
