Oh, am I behind!

I know, I know... it's been awhile. I am not a huge fan of blogging without accompanying photos, but since cameras apparently don't trust me, I am going to have to change my attitude. I misplaced our camera (new as of Christmas, by the way) on Norah's birthday, and cannot find it yet. Argh! So I bought a disposable one, and once it's developed onto a CD, I will share the delights of the day. Paul's mom was kind enough to lend us her camera for Nonie's party; the cord to upload them to my computer didn't make the trip here. ARGH! So wait we must, dear friends.

Updates:
Norah had her 4-year-old check-up today. She has gained 2 whole pounds since she was three. Geez! Get that girls some butter and deep-fried onion rings. (o: J/K She's healthy and just petite. She used to watch with interest while getting shots; today she screamed bloody murder for a good ten minutes. It wasn't too fun. The sucker they gave her afterwards did help a bit, though.

Owen finally let the dentist open his mouth last week to "count his teeth." That was the THIRD attempt for this to happen. He was a champ and even let them clean and do a little scraping. He's filled with tartar, poor guy. Those genes come from me. )o:

Carmella's preschool took a field trip to Orchestra Hall (Nonie and I tagged along) for a behind-the scenes look at musicians, instruments and the wide world of music. The kids even sat on the stage while the small ensemble performed and introduced their instruments. Her favorites were the trombone and the harp. She had a chance to play the violin and a snare drum, too.

Next week we will be heading to Eau Claire to help build our chicken coop with the Skutely family. Yes, we're raising chickens with them, though they're really doing the bulk of the work. We'll have about 30 birds and they'll have an ever-so-long life of seven weeks before doomsday. (The ones from chicken factories live about four weeks, so this is a bit better.) These will be for meat, not eggs, and will roam Tim's acreage in a nice-sized coop on wheels. I am sure photos will be needed for this adventure! Wish us luck. And no, I am not a) helping on doomsday nor b) telling the kids anything about this. They'll meet the chicks, etc. but will be told we're letting them fly away. I just can't tell the truth yet!!
