I am not sure how my last posting was so long ago, but here we are, August 26th. School and fall looming ahead. Cooler mornings and nights (which I love). Preschool and school and church meetings filling the calendar.
Well, before I get ahead of myself, I should digress as to just how we spent this August. Let's see... we canned pickles with our tried and true friends, the Skutleys. 34 jars! And I don't even like 'em. Good thing Nonie and Paul do. Some of you will be getting a few of those jars, don't you worry. Dearie CO friend Erica and her family bought a beautiful home nearby and we've really enjoyed seeing more of them. We've had delightful playdates with friends weekly, and we're grateful for you all.
All this leads to... (drum roll, please) Sandy Family Camping in Chetek, WI!!! Four days, three nights of old-fashioned family fun. There was a fishing contest, a crazy talent show (yes, adults did participate; one even feigned death!), campfires with very cheesy songs, a tasty shrimp boil and lots of tubular tubing and skiing. We came home muddy, hungry and exhausted, but smiling at the good memories. We have such patient and kind nieces and nephews... every single one of those nine kids spent time with our little ones (we're the youngest by five years). Thank you, God, for this blessing for our family!
A few of the pics from that trip:
"Where's my minnow?"
"Will someone please, please, please play catch with me?"
Boat ride with Uncle Ken and Grandma.
Norah tubing with Lauren and Jenna. She loved it.
Carmella went with Kenzie and Nicole. Again, smiles all around.
And dear Bobo? He lasted about three minutes with Lauren and Brynn.
"I scared of the tube and the water in my face, Mommy!"
Talent show antics take a dance party break.
Fishing on the last morning with Daddy.

Oh, what FUN! And great pics too...like you said, these trips are the best memory-makers ever! Love, Molls
