So we found a church around here that we both really like (me esp.) and have decided to become members. It's a darling Lutheran church that is just like the church I grew up in. It's also very heavy into music, which is perfect. I signed the kids up for their age-appropriate music classes (yes, there's a baby one, then Hosana singers for Nonie and Alleluia choir for Ella in the afternoons) and we've been faithfully going on Wednesdays. Today it went a little long... halfway through the second lesson a late parent bursts in and shouts, "Move your cars! They're tagging and towing right now!" Yes, it's a snow emergency today and the street we all parked on was about to be plowed. So we all abandon our kids in the music room with one poor mom and scour the crammed streets for spots. Twenty minutes later we're back in and singing. Thus, class went long, and after getting all three kids bundled up (it's only about 5 degrees today) we had to walk two blocks and cross two streets to find the car. May not seem long, but when you're carrying one (who is almost the heaviest) and holding two other hands and a bag while attempting to avoid any major snow piles (Nonie refused to wear her boots... had to be her Mary Janes) and cars, well, you get the picture.
Home for a quick lunch and naps. Perfect! Only not so much. Norah has been refusing lunch and naps these days, but so desperately still needs them both. I had to snuggle with and coerce her for over an hour before those lids fell (after she ate her little bird helpings). It's exhausting work, this motherhood. Wonderful, yes, but today it's more exhausting. Hopefully my next post will be perky and joyful.
