Look What I've Created!

Yesterday afternoon I helped the kids make a fort in the girls' bedroom. We used all the blankets, pillows and soft things we could get our hands on, and then filled it with gear: lanterns, dolls, cars and snacks. And then I was banished! Yes, I tried to play with my own children and they wanted nothing of the sort. I am the first to admit that I don't play with them all day (who has the stamina or patience to play dolls for more than 15 minutes??), but typically when I offer they readily accept. Not so much yesterday. So guess what I did? I finished my book, and it was really good (Plum Wine by Angela Davis-Gardner). I sat on Ella's bed and read for about 30 minutes. What have I created? Awesomeness. And no, I didn't worry that they don't need me anymore, because after I got up from the bed I was mobbed. Love it!
