Ella's preschool does a Rake-a-thon every fall as a fundraiser, and today was the day.
We gathered our rakes and strength and headed out into the
brisk afternoon for some serious work!
The rakers posed for a photo before we headed to our job sites. We had five yards to work on... each one had an owner who was not physically able to rake their own yard.
Look at Ella go! She really worked hard, but don't worry. She and the other kids had plenty of time to jump in those glorious piles, too.
The kids pitched in quite a bit, and the work went faster than we thought. Afterwards we reconvened at a preschool family's home for hot cider, pumpkin cookies, swingset time and the chance to meet their pet chickens (Prudence and Marge). Fun afternoon! Thanks to all of you who we hit up for donations! We're really grateful.
Very cool...what a great way to help others in need. And, an awesome way to burn off all of that pre-Halloween candy I've been eating!
