My dear friend April and I made the most of our weekend getaway in Phoenix. Here's how we spent our time:
* driving with the top down in our convertible (wahoo!) -- awesome navigating on April's part, by the way.
* finding lots of good restaurants to lazily eat in -- also returned to a couple several times; when it's good, it's good!
* shopping leisurely at the outlets, esp. looking for shoes. Oh, the shoes! I came home with three new pairs.
* cooling off in the lazy river at our hotel's water park.
* warming up in the hot tub at night.
* hiking on the South Mountain trails.
* seeing the movie "Whip It," which was really quite good.
* CHATTING!!! I don't think we had a quiet moment, other than the movie and sleeping. We just enjoyed catching up and hearing stories and getting advice and ideas. I am so grateful for this weekend with one of my closest friends. Thank you for everything, April (and Paul, for taking such good care of the kids while I was away. The house wasn't a disaster, either!!). I love you both!!
