The week after Christmas provided us with some visitors... Erica and Jay stopped by for a quick hello while in town from CO, and the Poylio family came over for a day to catch up. They live in CA but travel to MN over the holidays to spend time with family. Their two boys fit in easily here and we grown-ups were able to chitchat a bit! Next time we see them, they'll have a little girl added to their brood. Wahoo!
Mid-week we decided to take a family field trip to the Macy's 8th floor to see its "A Day in the Life of an Elf" window display. We took the light rail there, and that was the best part! I couldn't believe how excited the kids were about riding the train. We missed the first one and had to wait ten minutes in the 5 degree weather, but they didn't even notice. Once we were downtown, we all enjoyed the sights and sounds that surrounded us, and the Macy's display was no disappointment. I know the lines to get in before Christmas can be quite long, so I'm glad we waited 'til afterwards... we got right in.
Had to photograph the pig... I am sure I have mentioned Ella's pig obsession, yes? If not, now you know!
