Mall of America Adventure

Paul had a few days off around Presidents' Day, so one day we packed up the car and headed for the Mall of America (not our usual first choice outing!). We had a destination in mind... the Build-A-Bear Workshop, where Ella had a gift card from Christmas that she was waiting to use. (Thank you, cousin Max!) The kids all loved, loved, loved it, and I am sure we will be back there for Nonie's birthday gift. While she and Owen were extremely patient and didn't ask for a thing, I know how hard it was for them to watch only Ella come home with something. Ella had to stick to her budget on the gift card, and did great with that! She opted for the less expensive toy so she could get some accessories for it. Good lifelong skills!

Here Ella's helping stuff her bunny with a special heart to make it smart, sweet and cuddly. She just adores things like this. She and Norah play dolls and stuffed animals for hours... dressing them, setting up tea parties, doctoring them up. This place was a dream come true!

After the bunny "Foo-Foo Sandy" was ready to come home, we walked around for a bit and took in the sights and sounds. There's a large indoor amusement park and the kids oohed and aahed over the rides. We ended up at Legoland for some building fun. Owen was especially impressed with all the huge dinosaurs made out of Legos. Very cool!
