How it all worked out

She did it! We did it! We survived Day 1 of the kindergarten experience. Praise the Lord!
(The anticipation was killing me!)

Here she is, backpack filled and ready for the day. We rode our bikes to school (it's about 8 blocks), stopping first at my sister's for a quick hug and a sweet pressie from her.
Thanks, Auntie!

This smile is what kept my tears at bay this morning.

Here's her classroom. The teacher, Mrs. Barnick, is loving and yet no-nonsense (as far as I can tell, anyway). The kids have hooks and cubbies and work at tables. Carmella is in the white shirt in the bottom left corner.

Her room has a carousel! It's really cool. The kids sit on the horses when they're using the listening center.

Carmella shed some tears as we left (so did Nonie and myself!!), but when we returned at 3:00 to pick her up, she was all smiles. Oodles of stories to share and pictures to show us in her backpack. Life moves on, whether or not we're ready. Thank God she was! Let's hope it stays that way. Thanks for your prayers and kind thoughts... we felt them all.
