Home Sweet Home

Here's Erica and her darling little lamb, Matthew, as we said our goodbyes last Sunday afternoon in CO. What a wonderfully relaxing and rejuvenating weekend we had! Lots of time to chat, coo at the baby and eat way too much delicious food. Did I mention the awesome spa treatment we had?? Erica and her husband, Jay, have seemlessly passed from the world of couple to the world of baby. I am very impressed with their calmness and practicality. It's like they already know that he's going to be fine, whether or not he's eaten/slept/pooped/cooed, etc.

We were able to get together with an old, dear friend named Kraig. I grew up with him and his family in Eau Claire. We went to church together and share all our "Luther League" memories, as well as family celebrations of holidays. He (and his whole family, really) share an infectious love of learning and enjoyment of the moment. It did my heart good to see his smile again, and meet his adorable and intelligent fiance. Just what I needed... the whole weekend was. It made me really appreciate the kids, Paul and all the intangibles that just make life blessed. Distance really does make the heart grow fonder... it's cliche for a reason! Thanks, Erica and Jay.
